Photos and Stunt Camp

Hi Cheerleaders!

Our full group photo has been scheduled for Friday, January 9th at 3pm. ALL squads should be there with their subliminal uniform, white bow (I'm making extras over break for those who need it), poms, and white undergear.

You will be done by 3:30. ALL girls need to be there for the ALL squad photo. This is the yearbook photo, so any girl not in attendance will not be in the group photo. Fall girls, you will not need to stay for individuals unless you want.

Winter - if you would like your individual photos in your school uniform, you are welcome to change between group photo and individuals.

Let me know if you need help coordinating rides or anything like that.

Also, LSN is inviting our 8th grade cheerleaders to stunt camp on Jan. 28th. More details will be coming, but if you are planning to try out for high school, put this on your calendar!

Have a happy break!

Pep Assembly Note :)

I just wanted to take a minute to say how proud I am of each of you for working so hard! Your practice paid off. I've had many teachers tell me how great you did, and many couldn't believe that we were just a middle school cheer squad. You girls are so talented this year, and I couldn't be more proud to be your coach!

Great work today, Ladies!

Pep Assembly

Hi Parents and Cheerleaders!

Pep Assembly is on Monday at 2:10 pm. Parents, we will start warming up at 1:45, so feel free to come anytime after that.

What to Wear:
You'll wear your subliminal with the white, long sleeve shell under. Hair should be in high pony tail with the white bow (Winter B Squad, you don't have those bows, so just do a high pony, and I will put your bow in after our morning practice)

Practice:
We will begin running the routine at 7am -- I will be there at 6:30 if you want to warm up and help pull mats :) Come in the gym doors.

You WILL NOT go to your 7th hour class. Go straight to the gym to get warmed up. You are responsible for anything you miss.

I e-mailed everyone the music to your school account so you can practice over Thanksgiving.
If you need a copy of it, text me (816-726-6377) and I will send it to you.

Don't forget to work on your jumps over break! Point those toes and keep that back straight!
Here is a site that has great information about jumps: http://www.varsity.com/event/1161/cheer_jumps

Also, I just wanted to take a chance to apologize for the multiple schedule changes in the last month. Many factors have gone into these changes, but I did not do a great job of communicating the changes, so I just wanted to say I am sorry. The remainder of the year should be consistent.

In January, the girls will get information about a high school try-out clinic that North is helping put together, so our girls can be at their best for tryouts. The cheerleaders will also get information about our cheer tryouts, so they can teach the new cheerleaders.

Have a happy Thanksgiving!

Pep Assembly Change

There has been an additional change to the pep assembly date.

The new date is Monday, December 1st at 2pm.

Here is a link to the practice schedule: https://drive.google.com/a/lsr7.net/file/d/0B9Mf-KpW4-wXYTEzS0lRMnRDWG8/view?usp=sharing

Here is a note the cheerleaders received.

Hi Cheerleaders!

Once again, there has been a change in pep assembly since our meeting yesterday. We are moving to December 1st. This is the last change, I promise! Therefore, our practice schedule has changed a bit. You will find the new schedule attached.

Next week during advisory, we are going to meet in the weight room downstairs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday to work on the dance. If you are invited to TOTAL Time, you must go to TOTAL Time. If I find out that you were invited to TOTAL Time, but did not attend, you will not get to perform at pep assembly.

For pep assembly, you will wear your subliminal with your white long sleeved shell underneath. Hair will be in a high pony with the white bow.

Check the blog later this week for a link to the dance and music.

Sorry about the changes. It was outside of my control.

Tuesday's Football Game

On Tuesday, the cheerleaders will be wearing a football jersey and non-spandex black shorts. There has been some confusion about a switch in uniform, but this is the latest, coach-approved outfit, so this is what they will wear. The girls do not need to go buy expensive shorts. They may simply wear any black, non-spandex shorts. If the girls do not have a jersey, they need to see Miss Collier or Mrs. Banks in the morning.

Uniforms

Winter Cheerleaders: Please remember to bring your uniform to Miss Collier's office this week. The fall girls have back-to-back days of wearing uniforms, so they need as many options as possible.

Thank you!

Pep Assembly

Just a reminder, tomorrow the girls need to be at the school ready to roll at 7:00 am tomorrow!

They should wear their subliminal uniforms, hair in a high pony, and we are getting new bows. :)

Parents, you can be at the school at 2 if you want to see your daughter perform.

Girls, go over the dance and stunt timing tonight. Also, you will be doing "We've Got the Beat" at the beginning, so practice that if you have time.

Cheer Calendar

EDIT: I accidentally put winter practice instead of Fall for Tuesday. It is correct now! Also, depending on who makes the play, the pep assembly practices may have to change. We are trying to avoid a Sunday practice, but it will depend on play practices. Sorry about the confusion!!

Hi Ladies!

CLICK HERE FOR THE UPDATED CHEER CALENDAR. There has been a change to the fall pep assembly practice schedule. We have removed the Sunday practice and added 2 week day practices. Other than that, everything is the same.

We will see fall on Tuesday in the front foyer ready to practice by 2:55!

Let me know if there are questions

First Days of School

Hey Ladies!

Just a reminder that we will have practice after school on Wednesday from 3:00 - 4:30. You may wear anything you wish. We will be running through our camp routine, so we are ready to roll on Thursday.

You need to wear your Subliminal Uniform with shoes and your polka-dot bow to school on Thursday, August 21st. There will be no practice that day.

You should get your calendars at the end of practice on Wednesday.

I am still waiting for the Varsity order to replace the under gear and shoes, so hopefully that comes soon!

Practice for back to school

Just a reminder there is no practice today or tomorrow since wev are no longer performing at transition day. We are having practice from 3 to 430 on the first day of school and we will perform at the back to school assembly on the second day of school. You will need to wear your subliminal uniform with your bow and clean shoes.

Camp Day 1

We've had a great day at camp today! The girls have danced and chanted their hearts out.

A few updates:

1. On Wednesday, we will do pizza for lunch from Waldo's. Therefore, the girls need to bring $5 to Coach Collier or Coach Banks tomorrow unless they are going to do lunch on their own.

2. Tomorrow the girls will wear their maroon shirt and grey shorts. I couldn't get smaller sizes in the grey shorts, but I'm going to make a last ditch effort tonight. If you want to go on a personal mission to find a smaller size for your girl, you can go to Walmart and look in the girl's section. I've checked the Raytown and Lee's Summit Walmart, but they only had girl's small, which was tiny. I will check the Leawood Walmart tonight and my smallest girls get swapped first. You are also welcome to alter them in any way.

3. Camp hours for Tuesday and Wednesday are 8:30 - 3:30. They need to bring lunch tomorrow.

4. Parent Expo is around 2:50 on Wednesday.

BCMS Cheer Update

Hi Ladies (and parents!)

Here is the latest update on camp and clothing.

Clothing
You may pick up your clothing any time in the Guidance Office at BCMS. (When you walk in the main doors, it's the office directly to your right.) There is a big box of bags, and they all have name tags on them. The following girls have bags waiting for them: Lauren, Nhukim, Megan, Bethany, Cassidy, Devorah, Lanee, Cydni, Ashley, Anissa, Sania, Makynzee, Carlie, Ramya, and Grace.

You can walk in, go to the box sitting on the chairs under the windows, find your bag and walk out between the hours of 8am and 3pm, Monday - Friday.

If you are missing something, please text me (816) 726-6377 to let me know. A few things were left out of the boxes, and my office was torn apart due to some wiring issues, so I'm trying to reconcile everything. No one has their cardigan yet, so don't worry about that.

Camp
Here is the schedule for camp including what to bring and wear

Monday, August 4th at Pleasant Lea Middle School
12:00pm to 7:00pm THIS IS A CHANGE - Due to back to back camps, our Monday camp got pushed back a bit. If you have any issues with the evening time, please let me know and we will get it worked out.
What to wear: Subliminal Outfit (The tank and matching skort), pony tail, polka dot bow, Clean cheer shoes
Bring: Snack or Dinner, Water Bottle, and poms

Tuesday, August 5th at Pleasant Lea Middle School
8:30 - 3:30
What to wear: Maroon Cheer Shirt and Grey Shorts, Pony Tail, Clean Cheer Shoes
Bring: Lunch, Water Bottle, Poms

Wednesday, August 6th at Pleasant Lea Middle School
8:30 - 3:30 (Parent Show Case at 2:45)
What to wear: Pink Cheer Shirt, Black Shorts, Pony Tail, Clean Cheer Shoes
Bring: $5 for Lunch (may bring this any day), Water Bottle, Poms, Under gear (white midriff and black spandex)

At this time, I do not plan to have practice on Thursday, but I will decide for sure once I see how the girls progress.

And this information is slightly different than the previous post. (I deleted the other post in case you're looking for it!) I am officially back to checking my school email, but my phone is the best way to reach me.

I'm looking forward to working with all of you!
Coach Collier

P.S. If you didn't receive this in email form, then the email I have for you isn't working. Please text or email me to let me know. Thanks!

First day of clinic

We had a great beginning to the end of year cheer clinic! I am so proud of the girls for their hard work today. Ask your daughter about the characteristics of an awesome cheerleader, and have them do at least one of the seven cheers they learned. You can also ask them about the Icebreaker races. Can't wait for another great day tomorrow!

Chant Clinic

Chant Clinic has been moved from Mon-Wed of next week to Wed-Friday of next week. So the new chant clinic dates are May 21-23 from 3-4:30. The girls can wear whatever they'd like.

Also, 7th graders need to turn in payments as soon as possible!

Thanks!

It was a tough tryout season! Thank you so much for trying out, and I encourage you to keep working on your jumps and strength, so you can try out for LSN Cheer. I have had many girls who didn't make the BCMS squad go far at LSN!

Cheer Tryouts (Info for current cheerleaders)

Hey Ladies!
Sorry, long time, no post.

Friday is offical tryout day. The 8th graders need to wear their cardigan, a black or white shirt underneath, and leggings or jeans. Shoes need to be black, white, or red (you could wear boots, but not some crazy color) Wear any bow you want and a smile!

For your cheer group, please bring them something like a homemade good luck note and a piece of ribbon or candy bar or a bottle of water. Something along those lines. DON'T GO CRAZY this isn't a competition of who has the best thing to give their cheer baby. :)

Finally, please bring snacks to share. We're feeding the judges too, so something that can feed about 20 people. Leave it in Miss Collier's office at the beginning of the day.

Tryouts should be over around 4:30 or 5. If you are staying for dodgeball, that is fine. You'll just hang out with me until 5.

Thanks for all of your hard work this week! You all have been STELLAR during clinics! One of my best tryout weeks yet!
